The timing of this summer’s IPF Conference (International
Offshore Wind Partnering Forum) couldn’t be any better for the
launch-pad of America’s major move into offshore wind energy -
according to leading geotechnical and structural specialists,
Wood Thilsted.
“This premiere offshore wind energy conference will be looked
upon as a historic Who’s Who assembly,” says Wood Thilsted
USA President, Matt Palmer, who has worked in the industry for
over 20 years.
“As much as we all achieve online”, said Palmer, “this is a
golden opportunity to meet up face to face, at a time when the
US offshore wind industry is finally all set for lift off”.
He added: “IPF is a must-attend event for anyone with an
interest in the future of offshore wind, because that future is
now. It’s all happening. People will look back at IPF 2021 as a
truly breakthrough conference that they can be proud to have
been part of. For those of us who have always believed in the
industry, this is such an exciting time, with the doors now wide
open for business. People and the environment across the
world will benefit from the huge expansion in offshore wind”.
Palmer pointed to new Vineyard Wind project off the
Massachusetts’ coast, for which Wood Thilsted provided the
detailed design.
“This one project alone will create around 3,600 jobs”, he
continued. “2021 is a milestone year for offshore wind.
Throughout IPF, an amazing amount of business will be on the
table”.
Hosted by the Business Network for Offshore Wind, IPF runs
from August 24-26 at the Greater Richmond Convention
Center; the largest exhibition and meeting facility in the
Commonwealth of Virginia.
